ANTIQUE PLUMBING

Projects Page
This research is being done on every pre 1970 cistern I can possibly find. As a result, I often find interesting cisterns out in the wild or up for sale as a restoration project. I do what I can to do to collect, study & restore them. Once restored, they become available for sale so they will be sold on as working & fully tested, ready to install then keep in service for hopefully many more years to come.
1950 "XL Burlington"

This a restored high-level cistern I had in my collection before selling. The picture shows a 1950 "XL Burlington" Cast Iron High Level Cistern, sold by Frank Love Ltd of Westminster Bridge Road, London. Light cast & has been primed inside. All brass fittings reconditioned, tested & watertight. The exterior on this example still has a very smooth finish ready to paint. Not all cast iron cisterns will retain their smooth finish over the years they’ve been in use, however they in a way have their own character and age left behind on them in their previous lifespans.
Standard Kingston (1950s - 1960s)
Available soon! As much as the Standard Kingston (1950s - 1960s) is so far the best performing Double Trap Syphonic WC ever made, it is also one of the most difficult toilets to restore and service.
I shall hopefully set this soon and make it completely leak free. I will then record a servicing video and upload it to my Projects page, for anyone who may still find and struggle with any of these in the future.

Wooden Cased Cisterns

5 cisterns, all drying nicely, 8 wooden cased cisterns in total to restore.
